Retirement Visa (Non-Immigrant “O” Visa)
The Non-Immigrant “O” Retirement Visa is a one-year visa for retirees in Thailand, which can be converted from either a tourist visa or a free visa.
To qualify for the Non-Immigrant “O” Retirement Visa, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Be 50 years old or older.
2. Have a bank deposit in Thailand of at least THB 800,000, or receive a government pension of at least THB 65,000 per month.
3. Own property in Thailand or have a long-term lease agreement (a lease of 12 months or more is recommended).
When applying within Thailand, your current visa must have at least 15 working days left for the conversion process. During the 15-22 days of the conversion, you are not allowed to travel abroad.
*Additionally, applicants are required to open a Thai bank account to complete the visa application.
